Girl Scout Jargon
Glossary of Terms for Girl Scout
Leaders 01 – pronounced Oh-One – the main leader for each troop. Each troop can only have one 01, but remember, the 01 should have lots of help and not do everything herself.
02 – pronounced Oh-Two – the secondary leader(s) or co-leader(s) for each troop. Each troop can have several 02s, each of which should help form the leadership team for each troop, spend lots of time with the girls in the troop, and share the jobs and responsibilities for the troop.
03 – pronounced Oh-Three – a member of the leadership team of a troop that has a job for only part of the year such as “cookie mom” and is not particularly active the rest of the year.

Adult Volunteer Application – each 01 and 02 needs to fill out an Adult Application and Background Check form – and any 03 that might handle money such as a cookie mom. The application and background check forms can be found on-line at the Council site (www.girlscoutsaz.org) under Membership.
Annual Meeting – this is an annual business meeting held by council and open to all leaders. Many topics are up for discussion at this meeting and delegates can vote for items on the agenda thereby giving their voice to the direction that council will be taking for the upcoming year. To be a delegate, you must be nominated at a leader meeting prior to the Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting is held in April.
Background Check – see Adult Volunteer Application.
