What is an ELF?

ELF stands for 'Experienced Leader Friend'.  This volunteer role is very important to our new and bridging leaders.  If you volunteer as an ELF, you will be matched with a Leader Friend that is at least one level lower than the level you have experience in.

Here are a few ways you can maximize yourself as an ELF:
 
1)     Find out if your Leader Friend needs help with registration.
2)     See if your Leader Friend needs help with an Investiture or Rededication Ceremony.
3)     Find out if your Leader Friend needs help teaching a Flag Ceremony to her girls.
4)     Walk your Leader Friend through training progression.
5)     Make sure your Leader Friend has taken all required training classes.
6)     Schedule a 'coffee talk' with your Leader Friend to see if there are questions you can help answer for her and her troop.
7)     Use the calendar on the neighborhood website for discussion on what is coming up in our neighborhood.
8)     Send your Leader Friend an email or post card to remind her of an upcoming event.
9)     Attend a Leaders Meeting together.
10)  Gather books/resources you no longer need and pass them on to your Leader Friend.
11)  Gather unneeded supplies and pass on to your Leader Friend.
12)  Register your troops for an event together.
13)  Plan an event for our neighborhood together.
14)  Attend a training class or workshop with your Leader Friend and carpool.
15)  Support your Leader Friend's troop with bridging resources/activities if needed.
16)  See if your Leader Friend needs help with her end of year Finance Report.
17)  Be a knowledge resource - share, share, and share what you know!
